Recommendations
The manufacturer recommends the following
procedures. The required maintenance and repairs on your scooter are directly related to how you
ride and take care of your scooter. Should you maintain the scooter with the recommended program and
drive such that you do not abuse your equipment, you will be rewarded with many thousands of miles of trouble-free
and inexpensive driving.
Every 250 miles:
- Check engine oil level
- Check tire pressure
- Check lights & horn
- Check battery level
Every 1000 miles:
- Change engine oil – we recommend Castrol 10W-30 engine oil
- Check tires for wear
- Check valve stems for splits and cracks
- Check brakes and throttle operation. Lubricate cables
if required
- Check all screws, nuts, bolts and
tighten.
- Check muffler and exhaust fasteners and front/rear
axles
Every 2000 miles:
- Change engine oil
- Change transmission oil – Mfg. recommends
Castrol 80W-90 transmission gear oil
- Clean air cleaner
- Check and clean (or replace) spark plug – Mfg.
recommends NGK spark plugs
- Check front and rear brake linings
- Check/clean/lubricate brake and throttle
cables
- Check CVT (continuous variable transmission) drive
belt for wear and cracks
- Check wheel and steering
bearings
Once the engine is completely broken in (3K miles) a
synthetic oil blend may be OK, although you should still change the oil regularly.
